UFOs and Space Anomalies
Judging from the plethora of reports we receive through television, radio, and the printed media, Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) are being observed almost every day by more and more people across the globe. Fortunately, some members of SCOPE NJ have had the opportunity to witness these phenomena first hand.
Below is a description of an encounter that took place in Monroe Township, NJ on July 5, 2012. Steve, our Tech Manager, had just stepped out on the open porch of his house at 10:27 p.m. when he became aware of some mysterious orange-red objects hovering over a wooded area directly across the street. They produced no sound and he judged them to be approximately three hundred feet above the tree line and several feet in diameter. After about a minute, he had the presence of mind to quickly retrieve his Nikon Coolpix digital camera and alert his wife, Michelle. When they returned to the porch, the objects were now much farther away and slowly moving in formation toward the east. A single object at a higher elevation moved swiftly out of view to the south. Together they viewed the phenomena for another 1.5 minutes until the objects were obscured from view by another copse of trees. Charles E. Ratliff, the Assistant State Director of MUFON, The Mutual UFO Network, was contacted and the incident reported. You can access MUFON below and on our links page.
Several members of SCOPE NJ were at a reunion in North Myrtle Beach on August 10, 2010 and witnessed a formation of orange-red lights over the ocean as they observed from the fifth floor of their hotel at approximately 10:00 p.m. Viewed through binoculars, the glow of each light resembled a churning plasma. They would appear and disappear singley or in groups at different elevations in the eastern sky. By the time a camcorder was brought to the scene, the lights were gone. This graphic interpretation of the lights was forwarded to MUFON along with a written report to document the event.

Cellphone photo was taken by the little girl's mother. She said the UFO hovered above the tree line and made no noise. Before she could take another picture, the object accelerated vertically at high speed and disappeared.
